HPDM139 – Group Project Meeting Minutes

- Review of project ideas
The group reviewed all options discussed in the previous meeting.
Interest in developing a package to evaluate algorithmic fairness in clinical prediction models.
Acknowledged this is a mature, well-developed field and that identifying a novel angle may be challenging.
- Skills and possible innovation
Kayla shared prior experience in developing a fairness evaluation package.
Proposed extension: evaluating the combined (intersectional) effects of two or more patient characteristics on fairness metrics.
- Agreed actions
Continue exploring alternative project ideas, while beginning to outline the structure of a fairness evaluation package.
Discuss proposal with the course tutor next Thursday and seek guidance on direction and scope.
RB to create a GitHub repository for collaborative work.
